The sequence of events leading up to the formation of the three teams of artists, curators, and collaborators.
Behind the Scenes
The process behind the scenes as the three JUMP artist-curator teams engage in research and creation, then present their exhibition with the partner art museums.
About the process
The page for each city—Lisbon, Los Angeles, and Sydney—records the progression of the projects, focusing on six key phases.
Starting point
Research
The curators and artists from Japan visit the city where the partner museum is located, and conduct research on the region’s history and culture.
Planning
Based on this research, each team develops their plan, which includes the concepts for the artwork, the creation process, and details of installation at the venue.
Creation
Each artist creates their work during their stay in the assigned city.
Preparation
In collaboration with the partner museum, each team prepares for the exhibition.
Exhibition
The completed works are presented at the partner museum.
