Social Media Policy

The National Center for Art Research (hereinafter referred to as “NCAR”) sets forth the following provisions regarding its management of the social media account below (hereinafter referred to as “SNS Account”) for JUMP: Global Collaboration Program for Emerging Artists and Curators from Japan (hereinafter referred to as “JUMP Program”).

1. Basic Policy

The purpose of the SNS Account is to increase users’ interest in the JUMP Program, and in art in general, by providing information about the JUMP Program’s activities as well as its event information.

2. Operation

The SNS Account is operated by NCAR as follows.

(1) Content posted

  • Information about the JUMP Program’s activities
  • Event information related to the JUMP Program

(2) Links to others’ SNS accounts

NCAR may link information to SNS accounts managed by art museums, other types of museums, media organizations, artists and curators involved in the JUMP Program, or other users, as necessary, by using the share, follow, repost, and tag functions.

3. Deletion of posts by users, etc.

Please note that if any of the following apply, NCAR reserves the right to delete all or part of a post or to block an account without prior notice to the user:

  • Posts detrimental to public order or morals
  • Posts that violate, or may potentially violate, laws and regulations
  • Posts intended for political, religious, or commercial activities, etc.
  • Posts that infringe on the copyrights, right of likeness, or other intellectual property rights of NCAR or any third party
  • Posts that discriminate or encourage discrimination on the basis of race, ideology, religion, etc.
  • Posts that are false or factually inaccurate, or promote unsubstantiated rumors
  • Posts that damage privacy, such as by identifying, disclosing, or leaking personal information without the consent of the person in question.
  • Posts that impersonate another user, a third party, etc.
  • Posts that contain harmful programs, etc.
  • Posts that have inappropriate contents including obscenity, etc.
  • Posts that modify, in whole or in part, any content disseminated by NCAR.
  • Any content that violates the Instagram Terms of Use
  • Any other content that NCAR deems inappropriate for its operations

4. Intellectual Property Rights

Intellectual property rights to text, images, and other content on the SNS Account are the property of NCAR or other parties that have legitimate rights to them. Content posted on the SNS Account may not be reproduced or reprinted without the prior written consent of NCAR. When quoting, etc., please be sure to clearly indicate the source of the quoted material in an appropriate manner. You are free to use the Follow and Repost functions, but if you wish to use NCAR’s posts in other ways, please contact NCAR.

5. Disclaimer

  • While every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of information posted on the SNS Account, NCAR assumes no responsibility for any actions taken in connection with the SNS Account.
  • NCAR is not responsible for any replies, reposts, comments and so forth posted by users to the SNS Account.
  • NCAR is not responsible for any problems or disputes that may arise between users, or between users and third parties, in connection with the SNS Account.
  • Copyrights to comments and other content belong to the user who posted them, but by posting them, the user grants NCAR the right to use the posted content worldwide free of charge and on a non-exclusive basis, and the user agrees not to exercise copyrights, etc. against NCAR.
  • NCAR reserves the right to discontinue operation, delete posts, comments, etc., or delete the SNS Account itself at any time without notice.

6. Other

This Social Media Policy may be revised as necessary at any time.
